Insights Tag Detector for LinkedIn

Last updated: October 29, 2025

Insights Tag Detector for LinkedIn (the “Extension”) is built and maintained by BRIX Templates (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This privacy policy describes what information is accessed and how it is handled when you install and use the Extension.

The Extension helps marketers verify whether the LinkedIn Insight Tag is present on the page they are viewing. All detection happens locally inside your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information.

Information We Access

To detect the LinkedIn Insight Tag, the Extension reads the page’s Document Object Model (DOM) and checks for the presence of tag variables and scripts such as _linkedin_partner_id, window._linkedin_data_partner_ids, and requests to snap.licdn.com. This processing happens entirely on your device; the Extension does not transmit page contents, partner IDs, or any other data to external servers.

Why the Extension Needs Permissions

activeTab

Allows a one-time scan of the current tab when you open the popup or tap “Rescan.”

tabs

Lets the background service worker detect tab updates so the toolbar icon and cached results stay in sync automatically.

scripting

Required by Manifest V3 to inject our packaged content script that inspects the page for LinkedIn Insight Tag variables.

clipboardWrite

Enables the “Copy ID” buttons so you can copy detected partner IDs to your clipboard on demand.

Host permissions (<all_urls>)

Marketers may audit any site. This permission allows the detector to analyze whichever page you visit. All processing remains local—no page data is sent to our servers.

Data Collection & Sharing

The Extension does not collect or share any of the following:

  • Personally identifiable information
  • Health or financial data
  • Authentication credentials
  • Communications content
  • Location or IP data
  • Web history or browsing analytics
  • User activity such as clicks or keystrokes
  • Website content beyond the in-memory scan required to detect Insight Tags

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels. No partner IDs or page data leave your browser.

Children’s Privacy

The Extension is designed for marketing professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and publish the revised version with a summary of changes.
